A Working rally at The Hyde – times from 10am.
Lead Rein upwards
Working rallies are aimed at broadening your riding skills. They bring together all the elements required to be a successful rider, and you can expect to do some flatwork, focusing on how your ride, your position, the effectiveness of your aids and your ability to adjust your riding to get the best from your horse. You are also likely to do some polework or jumping and the aim of the session will be to help you understand your horses way of going, which will help you to improve your dressage jumping and cross country riding. Whatever discipline you like to focus on it is important to practice the core skills from time to time and as Pammy Hutton said in her interview at Badminton “don’t specialise too early.” The exact content of each session will be tailored for the age range and ability of the group but will focus on understanding the Scales of Training and how the rider can influence these. Some sessions will also incorporate the chance to take a Pony Club Badge.
